Our Mission and Values
About Us
We are a community-led initiative responding to the unmet spiritual, emotional, and cultural needs of families during illness, end of life, and bereavement.
While hospice care in the UK is well established, many Muslim families face barriers around understanding services, accessing faith-sensitive support, and feeling spiritually supported at life’s most vulnerable moments.
Our role is to bring hospice-style compassion, presence, and guidance directly into the community and the home.
We are currently operational as a non-clinical, voluntary service, and we are working toward developing regulated clinical hospice services in the future.
Islamic Hospice UK offer a community-based spiritual care and Muslim chaplaincy service, delivering voluntary home visits, bereavement and family support, and community outreach.
Clinical hospice and medical services are part of our future development, and we are taking a phased, responsible approach aligned with UK regulations.
Our Mission
To ensure that every individual regardless of background—has access to compassionate,
culturally sensitive palliative and end-of-life care.
We aim to bridge gaps in understanding, improve community engagement, and work collaboratively with health and social care providers to reduce inequalities and improve outcomes for all.
Our Vision
A future in which all communities receive equitable,
person-centred palliative and end-of-life care that respects culture, identity, and dignity.
We strive for a healthcare system where culturally competent care is the norm and where no community faces barriers in accessing the support they need at life’s most critical moments.
